CAREER

Dr Helen Hammond, Consultant Paediatrician. NHS Lothian Honorary Senior Lecturer in Child Life and Health at Edinburgh University. She specialises in child development, child abuse and neglect including video colposcopy of sexual abuse victims, and the health needs of children looked after. She has acted as an expert witness in criminal cases of physical and sexual abuse and neglect in relation to Children's Hearing in freeing for adoption proceedings. Preparing reports, reviewing the literature and appearing in court. She is a member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health Standing Committee for Child Protection and regularly lectures on all aspects of child abuse and neglect.
