PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

I have been a consultant paediatrician since 1985, currently based at Royal Hospital for Sick Children, Yorkhill, Glasgow. I am involved in all aspects of acute and chronic paediatric medical care. I specialise in urgent care and assessment of ill children. As part of the specialist Child Protection Service, I have a wide experience of all clinical aspects of child physical abuse and neglect. I have prepared many medico-legal reports for both Claimant and Defendant in civil litigation medical negligence cases. I have also provided reports for prosecution and defence in criminal proceedings involving children, primarily related to child abuse.
